The coronavirus is causing hardship and death around the world, and has governments everywhere scrambling to save humans.
Animals are being left behind!
Fallen Angels is a shelter-and-outreach project that helps dogs in shanty towns near Cape Town. Right now, they have 65 dogs who need to be sterilized immediately and 20 puppies waiting their turn.
BUT the South African government has banned street dog sterilization until the lockdown is over!
We need your help today to pressure the government so we can help these dogs!
These are street dogs without owners - if we are not allowed to get these and countless other dogs sterilized, there will be a puppy explosion throughout the shanty towns, resulting in hundreds of deaths and shocking hardship.
South Africa is in a stringent lock down and movement is strictly regulated. Vets can only perform emergency surgery - the South African Veterinary Council has confirmed.
A puppy explosion is imminent!
Fallen Angels is an example of the scale of the problem. Cape Town authorities estimate there could be more than 230,000 street dogs in Cape Town. Can you imagine how many unwanted, unloved puppies will be born, only to die horrible deaths?

P.S. We can’t do this alone - please contribute what you can to PAL today – only with your help, can we hope to be there for street dogs during this unparalleled crisis.
